Ross's Ramblings - Movies, TV, Pop Culture, Politics...

A 26 Year Old Music and History Graduate hailing originally from Adelaide and now living in Melbourne Australia. Here I will spill my small thoughts on anything I feel applicable... Beware.

Where's your divine right now?

It's finally happened. Australia is through to the finals of the Football World Cup. We are going to Germany in June next year, to play against the best of the world in the biggest sporting event on earth.

What an amazing feeling. I watched the game at a local pub and the experience was fantastic. Of course, i now have very little voice and have probably upset most of the population of Frankston with my incessant abusive yelling, but we got through so i'm sure i'll be forgiven.

So this is what it feels like then. That amazing feeling of sweet release that comes only to the avid football lover. I finally understand. I've loved the game for a long time, but never had the experience of satisfaction through support i'm having now.

It's an emotional time.

Go the Socceroos! Lets give 'em hell in Germany!

The whole game climax reminded me of one of my favorite scenes from "Jungle to Jungle." There is a moment when Tim Allen's wife turns to hiw wife and says "In 2005, Auxtralia will qualify for the World Cup in a penalty shootout." I never understood the statement until Wednesday night. What other gems and pithy statements made by Tim Allen are we missing? Why am I the only one asking these questions?
